The writer doesn’t say all things are good; rather all things work for the good. “Good” takes into consideration all things. You can’t enjoy a good day until you’ve experienced a bad day. And you can’t fully comprehend the beautiful sight from the top of a mountain until you’ve seen up close the floor of a valley. That’s how all things work together.
