“Teacher, what must I do to have eternal life?” Matt. 19:16. Jesus told the rich young ruler to sell his belongings and give to the poor. This person walked away grieving because he had gained much wealth. Jesus never criticized the young man’s possessions. He just pointed out what possessed the young man.
