It Is Written

“Jesus stooped down and started writing on the ground with His finger.”  John 8:6   In a stroke Jesus changed the focus from the humiliated woman to the haughty accusers. We will never know what Jesus wrote upon the ground until we get to heaven. But we know what He wrote upon her heart that got her to heaven…FORGIVEN. That is the same word that can get you into heaven, regardless of your past.

Nothing Left To Give

“Jesus said to his disciple, She is your mother.” John 19:27.   As Jesus hung on the cross, He had nothing else to give His heavenly Father. He gave His earthly mother to His closest friend.  Jesus’ mission in life was about to end. You have to believe God brought you to this point in life. This may be the last day you can give Him anything, so give Him everything. (excerpt from Encouraging Words devotion book at Bookstore Tab)

No Holding Back

“The prince of the world is coming. He has no hold on me.”  John 14:30.   Jesus spoke those words while death was looking over His shoulder. Jesus’ death allows you to make the statement, “Satan has no hold on me” while you are alive. Your mind has power over any thought that tries to overwhelm you. It’s that simple because Satan simply doesn’t have a hold on you. (excerpt from Encouraging Words devotion book at Bookstore Tab)

When Others Don’t Understand You

“And He did not do many miracles because of their unbelief.” Matthew 13:58.
Jesus could not do much for those who took exception to Him. He chose to minister to those who accepted Him. Leave behind those who have said you’ve worn out your welcome. Move on to those who extend a welcome to you. Those are the ones you can make a difference in their lives.

Failing Is Not Failure

The Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid or discouraged…” Joshua 8:1.  Just because you fail at something doesn’t mean you are a failure. If you made a mistake, it doesn’t mean you are a mistake. Don’t reminisce about what it used to be like. Think about where you are going and keep moving forward. When you have to listen to someone say, “You failed,” listen for Him to say, “Do not be afraid or discouraged.” (excerpt from Encouraging Words devotion book at Bookstore Tab)

Life’s Puzzle

“God knew what he was doing from the beginning.” Romans 8:29. Life is like a puzzle that has many pieces. Each piece is unique. A day in your life is interlocked with the other days in your life. As you grow older, you begin to see how the pieces beautifully connect with other pieces. There will not be a day not used as God gives shape to your life each day with each new piece. All You Need

“Then He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waves.” Luke 8:24. You are being tossed by the sea of uncertainty and blown by the invisible winds of confusion. The Lord is in your life and that is all you need. He can calm those elements in life that caused the inner storms in the first place by a mere whisper. Listen for His voice and look for that peace that can only come from Him. Storms will cease periodically, but His peace in you is there for a lifetime. Lowly Places

“…she laid Him in a feeding trough-because there was no room for them in the inn.” Luke 2:7. Jesus was placed in one of the lowest positions while here on earth. Don’t limit yourself because of some lowly places you have been placed or be concerned about where you could end up in life. You may not like where you are today, but it can get you where God has for you tomorrow.
Wishing all of you a Merry Christmas and God’s blessings for 2014 will be more than you ever imagined possible! (excerpt from Encouraging Words devotion book at Bookstore Tab)

More Than Just A Name

“…and you are to name Him Jesus because He will save His people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21.  God has not only called you by name, He has also given you a special task.  It wasn’t until after Jesus’ death that many came to realize the importance of His name and His presence. It may be after your death before others realize your reason for being placed here by God. That’s when your life will be understood, and that’s when others will remember you as more than just a name. (excerpt from Encouraging Words devotion book at Bookstore Tab)
